Hetalia Watching Diary: Episodes 6-52

Yep. You read that right.

Well, the episodes are only five minutes long, seven at best. And it was so. Addicting. Oh my god. I completely understand. Completely.

So much to my delight around episode 20 there was a lovely little backstory for US and UK involving brotherhood and the Revolutionary War... And I cried. Yep. I did.

I believe it began around here.

But my god, there are so many shiptease moments in this show it's almost criminal. *cough*GerIta*cough*

But I was just so freaking impressed with this show. Normally I hate shows that are all puns and idiotic jokes, but I think I figured it out. Hetalia pokes fun at cultural stereotypes, but not maliciously. They're not being crass or rude or vulgar. They're being silly.

There is a very big difference between this...

...And this. (No offense FG fans)

The music in this show is surprisingly fantastic. And the ending, I normally don't like it all that much because of Italy's...singing...voice, but whenever Germany or Japan sings it I love it.

Also, I was so incredibly impressed with how America was handled. I was honestly expecting some half-wit asshole, but then I was surprised with a half-wit asshole that's adorable.

"It was actually made to beat the holy hell out of you so I'm glad you think it's cool."

But wow, I was not expecting character development. And I got it. Lots of it.

So yeah. 10/10 as of the end of season 2. On to World Series! At this moment I've actually seen the first episode but whatevs

I really recommend this if you get a kick out of silly humor and jokes and effeminate males and painfully obvious homo stuffs (so I've heard (while browsing tumblr) that Italy and Germany might get married? What? Yes!) and adorableness all around.

Aren't the French and Italian relatively interchangeable in his song?

Hetalia Watching Diary: Episodes 1-5

First of all.

What. Just what.

This show is weird. Man, it is weird. My friend told me I should watch it and I honestly have no idea what to think.

I mean, I might be somewhat shocked at all the incredible amount of stereotypes in this if it wasn't so... Funny? Yeah. I think so. I love the inclusion of all the information.

Also.

Why? Why are they so adorable? I like Japan and Germany the best out of the Axis (Italy has his moments, but he's annoying sometimes), but I still don't know what to think. It's just so weird. And cute. I don't. What is going on.

Right now I don't really understand why there's this huge ginormous Hetalia craze, maybe it gets really good? And are they going for drama, when the axis is around the campfire with the somber (and lovely) piano music in the background? What? What? I don't know what to think.

I think some of my problems might stem from the fact that I don't know half of the country stereotypes in the world. I mean, Italy is lazy and likes food, Germany's a neat freak, America's a nosy ass, Japan is... Well, you get the point. But besides that all I could gather was something about Austria and pianos. (Loving the music).

So...is there any plot? To be honest, I'm not sure I'd mind either way.

Well, it's quite entertaining. 7.8 on the Russetmeter so far.

Also, who was chanting when America and England and Russia and all of them were around the campfire!? That made me laugh so hard.
