Hetalia Watching Diary: Episodes 6-52

Yep. You read that right.

Well, the episodes are only five minutes long, seven at best. And it was so. Addicting. Oh my god. I completely understand. Completely.

So much to my delight around episode 20 there was a lovely little backstory for US and UK involving brotherhood and the Revolutionary War... And I cried. Yep. I did.

I believe it began around here.

But my god, there are so many shiptease moments in this show it's almost criminal. *cough*GerIta*cough*

But I was just so freaking impressed with this show. Normally I hate shows that are all puns and idiotic jokes, but I think I figured it out. Hetalia pokes fun at cultural stereotypes, but not maliciously. They're not being crass or rude or vulgar. They're being silly.

There is a very big difference between this...

...And this. (No offense FG fans)

The music in this show is surprisingly fantastic. And the ending, I normally don't like it all that much because of Italy's...singing...voice, but whenever Germany or Japan sings it I love it.

Also, I was so incredibly impressed with how America was handled. I was honestly expecting some half-wit asshole, but then I was surprised with a half-wit asshole that's adorable.

"It was actually made to beat the holy hell out of you so I'm glad you think it's cool."

But wow, I was not expecting character development. And I got it. Lots of it.

So yeah. 10/10 as of the end of season 2. On to World Series! At this moment I've actually seen the first episode but whatevs

I really recommend this if you get a kick out of silly humor and jokes and effeminate males and painfully obvious homo stuffs (so I've heard (while browsing tumblr) that Italy and Germany might get married? What? Yes!) and adorableness all around.

Aren't the French and Italian relatively interchangeable in his song?

Hetalia Watching Diary: Episodes 1-5

First of all.

What. Just what.

This show is weird. Man, it is weird. My friend told me I should watch it and I honestly have no idea what to think.

I mean, I might be somewhat shocked at all the incredible amount of stereotypes in this if it wasn't so... Funny? Yeah. I think so. I love the inclusion of all the information.

Also.

Why? Why are they so adorable? I like Japan and Germany the best out of the Axis (Italy has his moments, but he's annoying sometimes), but I still don't know what to think. It's just so weird. And cute. I don't. What is going on.

Right now I don't really understand why there's this huge ginormous Hetalia craze, maybe it gets really good? And are they going for drama, when the axis is around the campfire with the somber (and lovely) piano music in the background? What? What? I don't know what to think.

I think some of my problems might stem from the fact that I don't know half of the country stereotypes in the world. I mean, Italy is lazy and likes food, Germany's a neat freak, America's a nosy ass, Japan is... Well, you get the point. But besides that all I could gather was something about Austria and pianos. (Loving the music).

So...is there any plot? To be honest, I'm not sure I'd mind either way.

Well, it's quite entertaining. 7.8 on the Russetmeter so far.

Also, who was chanting when America and England and Russia and all of them were around the campfire!? That made me laugh so hard.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity Pre-Review

So I downloaded the demo. It seems... promising?

I guess. I can't say for certain whether it's good or not as I've only played the first 30 minutes of it, but the pre-rating is a 3 out of 5.

I was originally going to give it a 4.5, but honestly the story hasn't intrigued me at all so far. Seriously, there wasn't even a quiz at the beginning! Just, "What do you look like?" One of the best parts of the Mystery Dungeon games was the quiz. (Until you get frustrated with the fact that you want to be a female Squirtle and that you have to browse through the quiz answers posted online in order to be one, but that's beside the point). And the insanely small amount of choices of Pokemon to be was annoying too.

Really, the rating was entirely based off of the 3D graphics and the music.

But wow, the scenery in that game is amazing. It makes me really excited for Pokémon X and Y, because I was dumbfounded with how pretty the game is so far (but I miss the old Pokémon portraits...).

And the music, like all previous Mystery Dungeon games thus far, does not disappoint in the slightest. I just left my 3DS open for a while to listen to it.

So yeah, beautiful construction, uninteresting storyline. There you have it.

Why hello there!

So my name is (censored), but for my purposes I'm going to go by my pen name, Russetwing.

I'm new to blogging, but the main purpose of this one is to rant about stuff be a stress reliever ('cause trust me - I need that). I've followed a bunch of blogs in the past, and they've all seemed like fun. So here's me, giving it a go. I don't imagine many people will read this (if any), but I don't really care much about that. If only one person reads this and maybe gets a kick out of it, hey, that's good enough for me.

In terms of subjects - I'll probably be posting about the type of stuff I'm most familiar with (i.e. Pokémon, Fire Emblem, probably a bunch of books, TV shows, etc), and some of that might be reviews and some of it might just be a tangent about something I hated or loved. And those subcategories may range from Micaiah's supposed Sue-ness (she's from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn) to the unrealistic proportions of females in animated media to why I both like and dislike The Hunger Games trilogy, et cetera et cetera et cetera. And I'm probably only going to review/talk about things that I know well, which means no reviewing games/books that I haven't completed, meaning probably no Fire Emblem (I haven't finished Awakening and Shadow Dragon, and I haven't gotten to Ike's memory scene in my new playthrough of RD, though I have finished the version where Pelleas dies) until later. Insert sad face.

Now, there is another aspect of this that hasn't yet been touched upon: THIS BLOG WILL BE BIASED LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW. For example, if I talk about characters in FE10, namely Micaiah, I'm going to talk about why she is a fantastic character and not a Sue and why I love her, because she is my favorite and no one shall sway me. Ever. I'll try not to do this too much, (like I can see why people would see Micaiah as a Sue), but my opinion is mine.

Also, this blog will be full of spoilers. I'll try to give warning when I talk about them.

Hm... Micaiah's been a pretty frequent example... Well, she is a pretty good example.

So, I think that's it. Here we go.

Sincerely,

Russetwing
